Local professionals elected to Conn. Society of CPAs
The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants has elected and installed its Board of Directors for the 2020-21 activity year, according to a statement. The society presented the following on each elected board member.
⏩ President — Marie L. Benedetto, CPA of Middlefield. Benedetto is the owner of Innovative Business Solutions in Middlefield, a business advisory practice serving privately held companies. She holds a masters degree in taxation from the University of Hartford and a bachelors degree in accounting from Central Connecticut State University. Benedetto has served CTCPA as treasurer, a Board of Directors member-at-large, an Advisory Council member-at-large, Golf Tournament Committee co-chair, and as an Educational Trust Fund Review Task Force member. She also served as a co-facilitator of the CPA society’s recent comprehensive Strategic Planning Initiative.
⏩ President-elect — Brian P. Reilly, CPA of Cromwell. Reilly is senior vice president and chief auditor for Travelers in Hartford. Prior to Travelers, he was a partner at Arthur Andersen. He holds a bachelors degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut. Reilly has served CTCPA as a member-at-large of its Advisory Council and a member of its Investment Committee.
⏩ Treasurer — Timothy Hedley, CPA, of Darien. Hedley is an adjunct faculty member at Fordham University and a retired Partner with KPMG in Stamford. He is chair of the CTCPA Membership Committee. He holds a bachelor of business administration from Sienna College and a masters degree and doctorate degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
⏩ Secretary — Michael Maksymiw Jr., CPA, CGMA of Plainville. Maksymiw is a partner with Marcum LLP in West Hartford. He holds a bachelor degree in business administration from Bryant University and masters degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut. He has served the CTCPA as chair of the Advisory Council, a member-atlarge of the Board of Directors, a member of the New and Young Professionals Cabinet, and a member of the Strategic Planning Committee.
⏩ Advisory Council Chair — Amber Moore, CPA of Bozrah. Moore is a Manager at Goldblatt Bokoff, LLC in Norwich. She holds a bachelors degree in accounting and a masters degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut. She has served the CTCPA as a member of the Advisory Council, State Taxation Committee, Federal Taxation Committee, New and Young Professionals Group, Southeastern Connecticut Chapter, and Technology Committee.
⏩ Member-at-Large — Katherine M. Patnaude, CPA of Wethersfield. Patnaude is a senior manager with PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP in Wethersfield. She holds a bachelor degree in accounting from Eastern Connecticut State
University and a masters degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut. She has served the CTCPA as chair of the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee and Accounting Scholarship Foundation, as well as a member of the Advisory Council, Audit Committee, and New and Young Professionals Cabinet.
⏩ Member-at-Large — Katherine Donovan, CPA of Bloomfield. Donovan is an Assurance Manager with Whittlesey in Hartford. She holds a bachelors degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut and a masters degree in accounting & taxation from the University of Hartford. She has served the CTCPA as chair of the New and Young Professionals Cabinet and a member of the Advisory Council.
