RESTAURANT & ROSES: In support of local restaurants and charities, the North Haven Rotary Club will host a Restaurant & Roses raffle Nov. 15, in place of the club’s Wine & Roses fundraiser. TRANSFER STATION CLOSED: The Shelton transfer station, city yard and the compost site will be closed Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day and will reopen Nov. 12. No changes to trash and recycling collection.

VETERANS DAY: The 2020 City of New Haven Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at New Haven City Hall at 11 a.m .Nov. 11. All residents and the public are invited to attend this free event. Following the ceremony at City Hall, commemorative wreaths will be placed at the World War Memorial on the Green and at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Long Wharf Drive.

VIRTUAL CEREMONY: Due to COVID-19 restrictions limiting large public gatherings, the city and the West Haven Veterans Council will observe Veterans Day on Nov. 11 with a virtual ceremony broadcast on Facebook and YouTube starting at 10:45 a.m. The Veterans Walk of Honor dedication, which was rescheduled to coincide with the annual Veterans Day tribute, has been postponed to 5 p.m. May 29, 2021. The dedication of the Walk of Honor’s 13th phase will memorialize veterans on the brick walkway in Bradley Point Park.
