HARRIS, NANCY HIRT
Nancy Hirt Harris, 78 of Naples FL, and Essex, CT, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2021. She was born on July 13, 1942 in St. Paul Minnesota to the late Marshall and Tensy Carlson Hirt. Nancy is the beloved wife of Reese H. Harris III of Naples and New Canaan. Nancy spent her early years in St. Paul, Minnesota. She and her family relocated to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she graduated from high school. She received a B.A. in Political Science from The University of Arizona. Nancy’s passion for travel and adventure led to her first career as a TWA Purser. She flew internationally for over 20 years, her main route being NYC to Athens, Greece. Her love of the Greek culture and jewelry resulted in a second 30-year career as the proprietor of women’s boutiques. Located in Essex, Connecticut, Naples, Florida and for a short time, Watch Hill, Rhode Island, the stores combined her love of travel and fashion. Aegean Treasures clothing and jewelry have homes in many closets, in many states in this country. For those who knew Nancy, her adventurous side was easily matched by her kindness and generosity. She was a true friend.
In addition to her loving husband Reese, Nancy is survived by her daughter Tensy Thatcher (Jeremiah Thatcher) of Naples, FL, son Douglas Harris (Katie Harris) of New Canaan, stepson Reese Harris IV (Shawn Harris) of Carlsbad, CA, stepdaughter Virginia Rowland (Randolph Rowland) of Shelburne, VT, and stepdaughter Dorothy Morgantini (Peter Morgantini) of Manchester, VT. She is also survived by four grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.

Sylvia G. “Betty Louise” Moore, 86, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on February 23, 2021. She was the widow of Jimmy Moore.Mrs. Moore was born in Greenville, NC, on November 30, 1934, a daughter of the late Amos Thigpen and Flossie Carmon Thigpen. Prior to retirement, she was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a Caster and was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She leaves to cherish loving memories, her daughters, Annette (Gilbert) Ford, Diane Bartlette, Linda Moore and Sheila (Billy) Gary; sons, Michael (Sharlene) Moore and Vincent (Rhonda) Moore, Sr.; 20 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Moore; brothers, Edgar, Matthew, Amos Jr., Preston, James and Willie Isaac Thigpen; and sisters, Lucy Cox, Mattie Sims, Ida Atkinson and Ethel Joyner.
A Celebration of Mrs. Moore’s life and legacy will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 64 Marlboro St., Hamden. A Walk-through viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Theodore T. Tamulevich, 96, of North Branford, died February 12, 2021 of complications due to congestive heart failure. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Noonan Tamulevich, and parents, Valentine and Anastasia Tamulevich. Ted is survived by his son, Theodore Tamson of North Branford, formerly of New York City, as well as his brother, Valentine Tamulevich of Branford, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Born October 28, 1924 in Branford, CT, Ted attended Branford schools before graduating from the former Arnold College, University of Bridgeport. After proudly serving three years in the Army, European Theatre, during World War II, he was employed by the state of Connecticut, Division of Bridges, for 33 years.
A kind and caring man, Ted was always ready with a joke and a smile, saying “I love to see people laugh.” He will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives he touched.
