Milan J. Jankovich, Jr., 81, of The Villages, FL, passed away on August 30, 2020 after a brief illness. Milan was born in New York, NY on January 8, 1939 to his parents, Milan J. and Mary (Skrapits) Jankovich. After graduating high school, he went on to graduate from the Chicago School of Cake Decorating in 1959. On September 30, 1962, Milan married (the love of his life), Anna May Mitchell and they resided in Hamden for thirty-nine years. After retiring, they moved to the Villages, Florida in 2000 where they resided until his passing. He also served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer (MP) in the early 60s. After he has served he went back to work at a variety of bakeries over his career from Frances’, to Leon’s, and his own bakery. He ultimately completed his career as the head bakery at Yale University. His passion was creating and decorating wedding cakes for hundreds of couples that spanned 35 years. In his younger years, Milan spent his little time off coaching baseball and basketball. He supported and influenced many young sports players in understand­ing the game and being a part of a team, including his sons. After he retired, he continued his desire to play softball and bowl where he influenced his grandchild­ren on playing sports and competing. Milan will be greatly missed by all those that knew him, especially his family and friends.

Milan is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anna May; five children, John, Paul, Richard, Jennifer and Joseph; their spouses; and six grandchild­ren; Peter, Jack, Mark, James, Audrey and Claudia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Milan Jankovich, Sr.; and his sister, Helen Cimino.

Richard Najarian, of North Haven, Connecticu­t, born May 28, 1939, passed on to eternity. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Maureen Najarian. The son of the late Dikran and Eskineg Najarian, brother of Dorothy Miller and her husband Charles; Jon Najarian and his wife Regina. The brother-in-law of Rosanne Raccio (Peter pre-deceased); Kathleen and Richard Pippin; Veronica and Constantin­e Souris; David Brennan (pre-deceased); Vincent and Joan Brennan (pre-deceased) and numerous nephews and nieces. He was a graduate of Hillhouse High School (Class of 1957), Quinnipiac University, Southern Connecticu­t State University and the University of Bridgeport where he received his Master’s Degree. Richard was an elementary school teacher for 32 years. He retired from the Cheshire School System after 26 years of service in 1996 and substitute­d in the East Haven and West Haven School Systems for 13 years. During his life he loved bowling and enjoyed the bowlers he bowled with. He was a member of the Knights of Vartan an Armenian charitable organizati­on, and an active member of The Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension. Richard had two rare gifts… common sense and a sense of humor. He loved his wife, honored his God, and cherished his family and friends. He will be missed.

The visiting hours will be on Monday, March 1st from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
