John J. Ziomek, Sr.
John J. Ziomek, Sr., “Jash”, 81, of Middletown, husband of Diane (Dobrowolski) Ziomek, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Middlesex Hospital. He was born in Middletown, son of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Zaklukiewicz) Ziomek. He joined the military, serving in the United States Army in Korea. After the military, John was employed at Jacobs Manufacturing in Elmwood, where he met his “beauty” Diane. He was then employed at Pratt & Whitney in both Middletown and North Haven. His final destination was working for the City of Middletown as the Tax Assessor. John was a NY Yankees fan and a NY Giants fan (no matter how bad they were). In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Alison Giantonio and her husband Michael of Middletown; brother Stanley Ziomek and his wife Jeannie of Middletown; grandsons Tommy and Jeffrey Woodcock, Johnny Ziomek and Richie Chiaia; sisters-in-law Marilyn Elwell, and Gloria Meickle and her husband Jack; several nieces and nephews, and his cherished granddogs, Magic and Bella. He was predeceased by his son, John “JJ” Ziomek, Jr. His Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, September 18th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Middletown. Burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown, on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. All attendees are asked to wear masks.
