KINGSTON, R.I. — The University of Rhode Island celebrated more than 4,000 of its newest alumni during commencement May 21 to 23.

Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7; magna cum laude, a GPA of at least 3.50; and cum laude, a GPA of at least 3.3.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — With a major in business administration, Springfield Technical Community College student Kristilyn Carta of Cromwell received an associate’s degree in science June 18.

Central Connecticut State University

MIDDLETOWN — Louis Beauchamp of Cromwell was selected as a recipient of a $1,000 college scholarship from the Community Health Center. He is attending Central Connecticut State University.

In 2019, the CHC initiated a college scholarship program for children of its employees. To be eligible, the student must attend an undergraduate college or university, submit an application, and write an essay addressing a health-care issue.
