Sharlene LaValle October 15, 2021

Sharlene LaValle, age 72, of Florida passed away on October 15, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph LaValle. Sharlene was born in New Haven, daughter of the late Paul and Helen Hartle. She is survived by her cousins Susan Neal (Dan Hinde), Robert (Carole) Mikenis and Michael (Lori Carlson) Mikenis, many other loving members of the Hartle/Mikenis families, her best friends/caregivers Mary Ann Keckler and Kristin Clark, and her loving pets Askher, Zipper, Peggy and Hunter. She was predeceased by her sister Janet Anderson and loving pets Chrissy, Bottlebrush, and TBone. Sharlene grew up in West Haven and North Branford with her love of dancing, music and clothing design until she married “the love of her life” Joe LaValle. They moved to Madison then Norwich to care for their farm animals and their store called the “Little Bit Tack Shop”. Joe and Shar then retired to Spring Hill, FL where they spent the rest of their days selling their treasures at the flea markets there. Sharlene loved all animals and called them her children.

West Haven Funeral Home at the green is entrusted with arrangements. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Wednesday, October 27th at 9:30am for a graveside service at 10am in Mt St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby. There will be no hours for visitation.
