Victoria Salvati, 85, of Hamden, died Thursday, January 13th surrounded by her loving family. She was predecease­d by her beloved husband Dominic Salvati. Victoria was born in Fondola Di Formicola, Provincia Di Caserta, Italy, November 13,1936 to the late Francesco and Rosa Simone Palmieri. Victoria was an avid gardener and loved planting and sharing her many years of knowledge of the land and its plants. She loved spending time with her family, tea parties with her great-grandchild­ren, gatherings with friends, cooking, sewing and sharing stories of her life. Her love for her children, grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren was boundless. She always made time for everyone in her life and spoke from her heart and strived to be the best friend she could be, from a child growing up on a farm during the war in Italy, to a wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r. She was always inquisitiv­e to the changing world and technology and enjoyed movies, historical dramas and screen classics as well as any gardening show available. She is survived by her loving children, Mrs. William (Rosa) Pfeiffer Sr. of Hamden, Mrs. Darren (Celia) Weaver of Maryland, Mrs. Alllen (Donna) Carder of Hamden, Victoria Salvati and Karen Prestwood of New Mexico. Treasured grandchild­ren Nicole Ashton, Ronald (Courtney) Ashton,

Sarah Pfeiffer, Amanda Carder, William Pfeiffer Jr. and Katharine Pfeiffer. And cherished grandchild­ren Shawn Nowicki, Alicia Nowicki, Derek Wolenski, Dylan Masella-Carder, Jeremy Gagne, Dominic Ashton and Olive Gagne. Survived by brothers Dominic Palmieri of Florida, Andy Palmieri, Cornell Palmieri, and sister-in-law Josephine Palmieri, all of Connecticu­t. And many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predecease­d by brothers John Palmieri, Joe Palmieri and Steve Palmieri and sisters Olga Izzo, Antoinette Pisciottan­o, Liberina Ricci and Christina Palmieri. Funeral services will be held TUESDAY at 10 A.M. from the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H., 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at 10:30 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Park. Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9 - 10 A.M.
