Kathleen “Kathy” Nicols Borelli, 89, of Milford, passed away on March 16, 2023, at Milford Rehabilitation Center under hospice care, surrounded by her family and listening to her favorite songs. Born in New Haven, a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Cosgrove) Nicols. Survived by her children Anne Marie “Amy” (Alan) Zingaro and Joseph “Jay” (Margaret) Borelli; cherished grandchildren Nicholas (Francesca), Marissa (Kyle), Christopher, Bethany (Will), Benjamin, Gabriel, Jeremy, and Angela; as well as great-grandchildren Siena, Tucker, Hannah, and Daniel. In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph E. Borelli, and brother Charlie Nichols.

Kathy attended Saint Mary’s School then Hillhouse High School, from which she graduated. She proudly worked for Southern New England Telephone Company and later for Barry Vine Jewelry, whereby she enjoyed many great years and developed lifelong friendships. Kathy traveled throughout the Northeast, moving to Andover, Massachusetts; Yonkers, New York; and various other cities before ultimately settling into West Haven, wherein she spent the majority of her life. Kathy’s greatest joy in life was that of spending time with her growing family. She would drive them from point-to-point juggling various sports, school, and church events, entertain everyone in the summer months when camp was not in session, and would be the doting caregiver whenever one was sick or feeling unwell. Kathy’s unending devotion to family continued into the next generation, as illustrated by the countless Disney movies she watched, or the simple pleasure of engaging with them as they conversed and played. Kathy never failed to seize an opportunity to herald their accomplishments at parties and various social events, all the while with a kick in her step and a smile on her face.

Arrangements were entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 21st, from 8:30 to 10:30. Her funeral procession will then depart the funeral home for St. Agnes Church, Milford, wherein a Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathy’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association. You may leave an online condolence by visiting www. westhavenfuneral.com
