Barbara L. Antisdale

-

Barbara Lovell Antisdale, 89, a lifelong resident of Milford, died peacefully on May 25, 2023, in the company of her children. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Martin “Marty” Antisdale, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. She was born in Milford on July 24, 1932, to Herbert Jackson Lovell and Eleanor Bird Lovell, and was the stepdaughter of Dorothy Wilkins Lovell. After graduating from Milford High School in 1951, Barbara began working at Friendly Finance. In the early years of her marriage, she lived briefly in Panama during Marty’s military service. Barbara and Marty later returned to Milford, where they raised their family. As her children grew older, Barbara returned to work as an office administrator at Warren Labs and Milford Internal Medicine and, in retirement, she volunteered at the Connecticut Audubon Society. A true New England Yankee, Barbara was fiercely independent. She loved sunny days, the beach, and white wine on the rocks, and she was blessed with lifelong friends, wonderful neighbors and a series of well-loved rescue dogs. She will be remembered for her boundless love and support of her children and grandchildren. After a long, healthy life she faced her final days on her own terms with bravery and dignity.

She leaves a legacy of rich memories of a life well lived.

Barbara is survived by her children and their spouses, Kevin and Joan Antisdale of Fairfield, Michael Antisdale and Mark Melanson of West Hartford and Susan and Lee DuBrow of Milford; five grandsons, Connor and Samantha Antisdale of Fairfield, Ryan Antisdale of Tampa, FL, Evan Antisdale of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Steven DuBrow of Milford and Kevin DuBrow of Milford; two great-grandsons Christopher and Riley Antisdale; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Deborah Bowley of Stratford. She was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Potts.

A private memorial will be held at a future date and the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a pet charity of your choice.
