Margaret Cavaliere

-

Margaret Ann Cavaliere (Babe), 94, of North Haven, formerly of Orange, CT, passed away peacefully on May 19th, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 4th 1929 in Derby, CT, the youngest daughter of Nicholas and Ann Scarpa. Margaret was the loving wife of Angelo Cavaliere for 63 years until his passing in 2013.

After graduating from Derby High School, Margaret attended beauty school and began her career at Macy’s as a hairdresser. Shortly after, she met Angelo and together they raised 4 four children and launched a successful business. Although she was involved in the business, her priority remained her children.

Babe was an amazing cook and entertainer and seemed to do both with ease. She had a pantry stocked with dishes from the numerous countries she traveled to. If you couldn’t find something at Crate and Barrel, you could probably find it in Margaret’s pantry.

Margaret was the embodiment of strength and discipline. She was an avid reader who enjoyed tennis, golf, and bowling. Margaret had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She will be missed deeply.

Margaret leaves behind four children, Daniel (Cheryl) of Delray Beach FL, James (Debra) of Mashpee MA., Janice (Peter) Carroll of North Haven CT, Paul (Chantal) of Colchester CT, 9 grandchildren, and 10 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will take place at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Rd., Orange, CT, on June 3rd at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Connecticut Hospice, Inc. 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford CT, 06405.
