Cooley’s 3-pointer helps Brown down Yale in OT

NEW HAVEN — Aaron Cooley’s 3-pointer in the final second lifted Brown to an 84-81 overtime victory over Yale on Saturday in a regular-season finale.

Kino Lilly Jr. led Brown with 26 points.

Brown’s Nana OwusuAnane sent the game into overtime with a 3-pointer with 35 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 73-all.

Lilly shot 10 of 19 from the field, including 3 for 10 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 3 from the line for the Bears (12-17, 8-6 Ivy League). Owusu-Anane scored 20 points and added six rebounds. AJ Lesburt Jr. had 10 points and went 4 of 11 from the field (2 for 5 from 3-point range). The Bears extended their winning streak to six games.

The Bulldogs (20-9, 11-3) were led by August Mahoney, who recorded 16 points. John Poulakidas added 14 points, four assists and two steals for Yale. Danny Wolf also had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Southern New Hampshire 75, SCSU 60:

At Manchester, N.H., Preston Santos scored 20 points to lead the Penmen past the Owls in the Northeast-10 championsh­ip game.

Marty Silvera led all scorers wth 21 points for SCSU (22-10), while Josh McGettigan added 13 points for the Owls.

Quinnipiac 89, St. Peter’s 74:

At Jersey City, N.J.. Matt Balanc scored 25 points as Quinnipiac beat Saint Peter’s.

Balanc shot 8 of 15 from the field, including 4 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 5 for 5 from the line for the Bobcats (23-8, 15-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Paul Otieno scored 18 points and added seven rebounds and three steals. Amarri Tice had 14 points and shot 3 of 6 from the field and 7 for 7 from the line.

The Peacocks (16-13, 12-8) were led by Corey Washington, who posted 21 points and seven rebounds. Marcus Randolph added 14 points for Saint Peter’s. Michael Houge had 12 points.
