SOFTBALL TOP PERFORMERS, GAMES TO WATCH

- Julia Bacoulis, Masuk: —Will Aldam

The junior threw a complete game, striking out 17 batters in Masuk’s 2-1 win over Southingto­n. She also hit a home run in Masuk’s 10-6 win over Cheshire.

Katie Dzialo, St. Joseph: Earned wins against two Top-10 opponents, allowing just one run on six hits with six strikeouts in a 3-1 win over Trumbull and holding Fairfield Ludlowe to three runs on five hits while striking out five in the 5-3 win. She then went on to throw a complete game shutout with seven strikeouts against Stamford.

Grace Ely, Masuk: The sophomore drove in both of her team’s runs in the 2-1 win over Southingto­n with a first inning, two-out double and a go-ahead solo home run in the sixth inning.

Yael Everett, Ridgefield:

Threw a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out 10 in Ridgefield’s 1-0 win over New Canaan.

Camryn Fisher, Ellington: Threw a five-inning shutout with 15 strikeouts, also going 2 for 3 with five RBIs in Ellington’s 12-0 win over Canton.

Selenia Fuentes, Comp. Sci: Went 3 for 3 with two home runs and six RBIs in her team’s 26-4 win over Innovation.

Maddie Furniss, Southingto­n: Threw three perfect innings, striking out all nine batters she faced to earn the win against Farmington, adding two triples, four RBIs and three runs scored. She also pitched well against No. 1 Masuk, allowing just two runs on seven hits while striking out nine in the 2-1 loss.

Shaylyn Gilbar, Wolcott Tech: The senior went 3 for 4 with six RBIs, a home run, two doubles, and a stolen base in Wolcott Tech’s 26-11 victory over Whitney Tech.

Caroline Hall, Trumbull: Went 6 for 6 with two home runs, two doubles, five runs and seven RBIs in Trumbull’s 19-6 victory over Danbury.

Reece Hebert, North Haven: Threw a complete game shutout, only allowing three hits and one walk while striking out 10 in North Haven’s 7-0 win over Lauralton Hall.

Amelia Jacob, Shepaug: The junior threw a nine-inning shutout with 17 strikeouts as Shepaug defeated Newtown 1-0.

Pip Karch, Mercy: Earned the save, pitching 11⁄3 perfect innings with two strikeouts in Mercy’s 5-3 win over Daniel Hand and earned the win, pitching four scoreless innings in relief in Mercy’s 6-4 win over Jonathan Law.

Brielle Kenney, Waterford: In a 3-0 week for Waterford, Kenney threw 21 innings, allowing three earned runs while striking out 25.

Trinity LaValley, Sheehan:

Threw a complete game against West Haven, allowing no earned runs on five hits while striking out eight. She also hit a three-run home run in the 7-4 victory. She also threw a complete game shutout in a 1-0 win over Foran.

Alex Lewey, Fairfield Ludlowe:

Threw a complete game one-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no walks in Ludlowe’s 1-0 win over Danbury. She also pitched two perfect innings with six strikeouts against Bridgeport Central.

Jenna Maus, Amity: Went 4 for 9 with seven RBIs and three doubles in Amity’s two wins last week.

Jordan McCue, Cheshire: The sophomore hit a walk-off single in Cheshire’s 5-4 win over Jonathan Law. She also hit a home run earlier in the game, driving in a total of three runs.

Sophia Meade, Guilford: Went 3-0 in the circle for Guilford, allowing just 1 earned run on five hits while striking out 36 in 21 innings pitched. She opened the week with a no-hitter against Lyman Hall, striking out 16.

Sydney Miller, Brookfield:

The sophomore got her 200th career strikeout in a win over Woodstock Academy in which she struck out 17 and went 4 for 5 and had four RBIs and two doubles.

Kiley Mullins, North Branford:

Threw a five-inning onehitter with nine strikeouts in North Branford’s 16-0 win over Cromwell and pitched four innings, allowing one earned run with 11 strikeouts in her team’s 29-6 win over Valley Regional.

Haley Powers, Bristol Central:

In Bristol Central’s 2-0 week, Powers went 6 for 10 with six RBIs, five runs, a triple, and two doubles.

Hailey Smith, NFA: Threw a complete-game shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out five in NFA’s 2-0 win over Old Lyme.

Paige Stebbins, Enfield:

Threw a complete game shutout with 12 strikeouts in Enfield’s 13-0 win over South Windsor. She also went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and three runs in Enfield’s 14-2 win over Conard, pitching two shutout innings in relief.

Ella Van Alstyne, Woodland: Threw a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts and also hit a two-run home run in Woodland’s 6-0 win over Brookfield.

Games to watch

Amity at North Haven, Tuesday, 4 p.m.: A rematch of last year’s SCC championsh­ip game.

North Branford at HaddamKill­ingworth, Wednesday, 4 p.m.:

A rematch of last year’s Shoreline Conference Championsh­ip game. Both teams are undefeated.

St. Joseph at Ridgefield, Friday 4:30 p.m.: The two highest ranked teams in the FCIAC go head-to-head. Ridgefield is undefeated, while St. Joseph has beaten Trumbull and Fairfield Ludlowe.
