TOP PERFORFMER­S

Caleb Allen, North Branford: Struck out 10 and held Haddam-Killingwor­th to two hits in a 3-1 win.

Alex Benevento, New Canaan: The senior had three hits and scored four runs in an 8-4 win over Westhill.

Liam Bresnahan, McMahon: Tossed a complete-game one-hitter in a 3-0 victory against Stamford.

Mason Carter, Wolcott Tech: Had three RBIs and went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in a 16-5 win over Whitney Tech.

Carson Clarke, Bunnell: Had walk-off RBI single to culminate a threerun seventh inning in 6-5 win over Kolbe Cathedral.

Sean Connolly, RHAM: Struck out 16 batters and surrendere­d one run and two hits in a complete game 4-1 win over East Catholic.

Adam Copeland, Guilford: Threw a complete game in a 5-4 win over Law, scattering six hits with three strikeouts and no walks.

Myles Fournier, Aerospace/Bulkeley/Bloomfield: In a win against East Windsor, was 2-for-3 with two doubles, then struck out 10 and went 3-4 with two RBIs in win over Innovation.

Cole Gibson, Ludlowe: Allowed no earned runs over six innings of work, striking out six in an

11-1 win over Greenwich.

Dominik Kubera, Killingly: Threw a complete game, allowing five hits and retiring 14 of the last 15 East Lyme batters he faced in a 2-1 win.

Connor Lane, Old Saybrook: The UConn commit hit his first home run of the season as part of a four-RBI day in a win against Hale Ray.

Chris Lusignan, Bacon Academy: Struck out 10 with two walks to get the 5-0 win over Putnam.

Brendan Macdougal, Ansonia: Struck out 14 and allowed two hits in a 10-0 win over Wilby.

Mason Pieger, Nonnewaug: Had three hits, three RBIs and scored three runs in a victory over Thomaston.

Andrew Sargolini, Cheshire: Went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs as part of a 5-1 win against Notre Dame-West Haven.

Owen Scarice, Hand:

In a 4-0 win over Xavier, pitched six shutout innings, scattered four hits and struck out seven.

Peyton Thomas, Shepaug Valley: Struck out 15 over five innings. At the plate, had a RBI and scored a run in a 12-1 win over Terryville in five innings.

GAMES TO WATCH Warde at Trumbull, Wednesday, 4 p.m.:

The two teams enter the week as the No. 1 and 2 ranked teams in the GameTimeCT Top 10 Baseball Poll. Trumbull has 42 runs through five games and Warde has scored 32.

East Haven at Cheshire, Wednesday, 4 p.m.: Few teams have opened as many eyes as unbeaten East Haven early on with wins over Xavier (16-3), Coginchaug (11-1) and North Haven (2-1). Cheshire has started up-and-down but would still be another feather in the cap of the

Yellow Jackets.

Brookfield at Barlow, Wednesday, 4:15 p.m.:

Brookfield has two nonleague losses to Hamden and Danbury but has dominated its other four games, outscoring the opponents in those wins 39-1. Barlow is unbeaten and has one of the best pitching staffs in the state in the trio of Ian Nilsen, Christian Nilsen and Lachlan Ellis.

Naugatuck at Wolcott, Wednesday, 4:15 p.m.: Two unbeaten NVL teams square off. Naugatuck has allowed six runs over five games and has two shutouts. Wolcott has four shutouts through its first six games.

Newington at Southingto­n, Wednesday, 6 p.m.:

Both teams began the season ranked in the GameTimeCT Top 10 Poll. Southingto­n has yet to lose and Newington has one loss outside of the CCC to Suffield from the NCCC.
