One person rescued from roof in row home fire Friday
One person was rescued from a second floor roof in a row home fire on the 600 block of North Ninth Street, near Tilghman Street, in Allentown on Friday night.
Firefighters responded just before 8 p.m. Allentown Fire Battalion Chief Christian Williams said the fire was contained to one apartment, with smoke damage to neighboring apartments.
Five people were displaced and one firefighter suffered a minor injury, according to Williams.
Neighbor Fernando Hernandez, 15, was on a nearby porch when he saw smoke in the upper window. He ran and knocked on doors to evacuate residents.
Resident Cameron Hernandez and family were trick-or-treating when his brother alerted him by phone to the fire. He drove home and saw firefighters breaking windows around the back, and flames in the living room next door.
Williams said the fire is under investigation.

club just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday. After escaping, he ran to Hahnemann University Hospital, but seeing it was closed he flagged down a cab to drive him to his vehicle.
But once there, he felt back pain, realized he had been shot, and ran to a corner bar for help.
He was listed in stable condition at Jefferson University Hospital.
No arrests were announced. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Hahnemann used to serve nearly 150 emergency room patients daily. Officials announced in June that the facility would close.
