Muhlenberg perfect after McDaniel rout

Michael Hnatkowsky threw three touchdown passes and was backed by a strong defensive effort as sixth-ranked Muhlenberg topped McDaniel 49-7 on Saturday to improve to 7-0 heading into next week’s showdown with Johns Hopkins.

Hnatkowsky finished 18 of 30 for 273 yards and his three scores, two of which went to Max Kirin. James Diggs scored two touchdowns on the ground, and Nick DeLucas rushed for a career-high 75 yards and a touchdown.

The Mules allowed only 28 yards on 33 rushes and recorded six sacks.

Spencer Kirin had two of the sacks, forcing a fumble with one, and Frankie Feaster finished with 3 1⁄2 tackles for a loss, 1 1⁄2 sacks, a pass breakup and a blocked punt.

Moravian 32, Juniata 28: Moravian rallied from an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to post a victory at Juniata in Centennial Conference action as running back Roberto Diez rushed for three touchdowns and wide receiver Nick Petros reached a pair of milestones for the Greyhounds.

Diez had three 1-yard touchdown runs on the afternoon, including two in the fourth quarter as he ran for 63 yards on 16 carries to move into 15th in school history with 1,379 yards on 319 carries. He has 13 career touchdowns, seven of them coming in 2019.

Petros had 10 catches for 139 yards with a touchdown against the Eagles as he became the 11th player in school history to pass both 100 career receptions and 1,500 career receiving yards.

Moravian finished the afternoon with 371 yards on 63 plays as QB Christophe­r Mills completed 23 of 32 passes for 265 yards with the touchdown to Petros and an intercepti­on.

West Chester 28, East

Stroudsbur­g 21: East Stroudsbur­g University dropped a decision at No. 21 West Chester despite outgaining the Golden Rams in total yards and winning both the turnover and time-of-possession battles.

ESU (5-3, 2-3 PSAC East) registered 299 yards of total offense compared to 263 from West Chester (7-1, 4-1 PSAC East). The Warriors posted 130 rushing yards, led by Gunner Anglovich, who netted 88 yards and a touchdown on just six carries. The redshirt sophomore found the end zone with a career-high 52-yard touchdown run, which was his fourth score in the last four games.

ESU kicker Jordan Walters made both of his field-goal attempts in the game, including a 56-yarder right before the halftime break. The kick from Walters set a record for the longest field goal in program history, beating out Greg Knauss’ 53-yarder in 2007.

Kutztown 55, Shippensbu­rg

5: Abdul-Hassan Neblett ran for career highs of 203 yards and four touchdowns, and 17th-ranked Kutztown gashed Shippensbu­rg for 335 yards on the ground en route to a victory at Andre Reed Stadium on Saturday.

Neblett scored on runs of 14, 59, 52 and 17 yards while tying for the second-most TDs in a game in program history.

Collin DiGalbo and Darryl Davis-McNeil also rushed for scores, while Jake Novak and Jack Pilkerton caught touchdown passes.
