Home has kept residents safe

-

The last three months have been very difficult for everyone, especially for our senior citizens and their caregivers. Unfortunately, these facilities have suffered the most deaths from the virus.

A very dear friend of mine lives at the Willow Assisted Living Home in Macungie. Unlike many other facilities, not one resident or caregiver has had the virus. Also, just as importantly, the residents are not quarantined in their rooms. They eat all meals at a safe distance in the dining room together, and they play bingo and other games at a safe distance.

My personal thanks to everyone who works at the Willow. This has been a difficult, unchartered time for everyone. But to all of you, a job well done. Jane S. Baker Emmaus The writer is a former Lehigh County Executive.
