NCC trains COVID-19 contact tracers Virtual 4-H Master Gardener Club
Northampton Community College will offer classes in COVID-19 contact tracing through a combination of virtual training on Zoom videoconferencing and the learning management system Blackboard. Program training dates are Oct. 19-23 and Oct. 26-Nov. 13.
This course covers the fundamentals of COVID-19 and expectations regarding the role of contact tracing. Participants will identify strategies to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Participants will learn to: identify the primary components of COVID-19 contact tracing, describe COVID-19 contact tracing protocol, and apply COVID19 contact tracing protocol to realistic scenarios.

Monroe County 4-H is offering a new virtual program for youth ages 8 to 12. The Junior Master Gardener Program is a flexible youth horticulture program run by Penn State Master Gardeners. Participants will learn about the many aspects of horticulture including plant growth and development, soils and water, insects and plant diseases, landscape horticulture, fruits and nutrition, and vegetables/herbs. This club will use hands-on learning, along with individual and group learning experiments.
The club meets virtually 2-3 p.m. on the following dates: Nov. 15: bulb forcing and garden journal; Dec. 13: make a terrarium; Jan. 10: making plant people; and Feb. 14: seed starting.
