looking for compassionate and energetic volunteers to become “Bigs” for youth ages 7-16 in Lehigh and Northampton counties. It has approximately 270 “Littles” waiting to be matched. Matches typically meet twice a month and can participate in activities that they are most interested in. DELAWARE & LEHIGH NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR
seeks volunteers to be museum docents who will be responsible for interaction with visitors to ensure they have a safe, enjoyable and enriching experience in its Bethlehem museum. Abilities required include friendly and welcoming demeanor, attention to detail and communication skills. Hours based on availability and desired commitment but prefer minimum of six-hour shift on a weekly or biweekly basis. Minimum age 16. HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS
need volunteers to donate wrapped shoeboxes filled with age-appropriate items for Lehigh Valley’s children in need. Suggested gift lists are provided on its website. This program, coordinated by the Volunteer Center, is a great project for large/ small groups, clubs, classes, families and individuals. INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION NETWORK LEHIGHVALLEY
provides 24⁄ 7 door-through-door ride service for seniors age 60 and over and visually impaired adults to any destination in the Lehigh Valley. In order to provide this service, it needs volunteer drivers to help with the increasing demand for rides. All rides in the Lehigh Valley only. Drive when and where you want. MEALS ON WHEELS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY,
Northampton County, needs drivers to deliver meals to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities. Volunteer once a week, once a month, or whenever your schedule permits; stepby-step directions and delivery instructions provided. Current need greatest for Bethlehem, Slate Belt and Easton sites. SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK, Nazareth, needs volunteers to pack Sunshine Boxes 8:30-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-3:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday and Wednesday of the month. Tasks include assembling cardboard boxes, packing boxes of food, organizing and loading packages. Minimum age 16 with parental supervision. Water and snacks provided. SIXTH STREET SHELTER, Allentown, needs someone to help with administrative tasks at the shelter 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Fridays.
