needs a volunteer ombudsman, a community neighbor trained to find answers and resolve simple problems older adults experience in the long-term care system. Catholic Charities is looking for volunteers who enjoy visiting with others and have three to four hours a month available. HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS need volunteers to donate wrapped shoeboxes filled with age-appropriate items for
Lehigh Valley’s children in need. Suggested gift lists are provided on our website. This program, coordinated by the Volunteer Center, is a great project for large or small groups, clubs, classes, families and individuals. INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION NETWORK LEHIGH VALLEY provides 24/7 door-through-door ride service for seniors age 60 and over and visually impaired adults to any destination in the Lehigh Valley. In order to provide this service, we need volunteer drivers to help us with the increasing demand for rides. All rides in Lehigh Valley only. Drive when and where you want. No minimumhours required. LEHIGH VALLEY SCORE needs volunteer mentors to coach entrepreneurs at no charge for our local chapter in the nationwide SCORE organization. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville, needs volunteers to help make the annual Winter Lights Spectacular event more fun Nov. 13 to Jan. 2. Shifts are 5:30-10 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 4:30-10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Volunteers will assist with concession stands, crafts booth, activities booths, attending fire pits, photo booth station and more. Minimum age 13. needs volunteers in our Early Childhood Center 9 a.m. to noon Mondays through Thursdays to be teacher’s aides. It would be for two to 2 ½ hours per day. Preferably a commitment of two to four days per week. Volunteers would provide general help to our teachers and would be required to have ECE clearances in place before starting.
