COVID-19 cases reach record highs

The coronavirus surged through Pennsylvania, breaking new-case records daily. The number of newly reported cases statewide broke 4,000 on Nov. 7, and broke 5,000 by Thursday. Hospitalizations increased by about 40% during the week.

What’s next: The state recommends families stay home for the holidays, but doesn’t anticipate another lockdown.
