Our roads are in bad shape despite higher taxes
Pennsylvania is notorious for the poor condition of its roads and bridges. Our Department of Transportation said if weincrease the Turnpike tolls every year, we’ll then have enough money to fix things. When that didn’t seem to work, they said let’s raise the gasoline tax to the second-highest in the nation, then we’ll surely have enough money to fix things. Guess what? That didn’t work either.
Now they say let’s place tolls on our free bridges, then we’ll have enough money to fix things. Does anyone see a trend here?
More importantly, why aren’t our House and Senate representatives demanding some accountability?
