Poll workers helped support democracy
I wanted to thank all the poll workers who have taken too much heat from sore losers, conspiracy theorists and politicians with agendas. These are good people, from both sides of the aisle, working hard to support democracy.
Given higher turnout and more mail-in ballots, prudent during the COVID-19 pandemic, it should not be a surprise that it took longer to count the votes. And minor irregularities do not constitute massive coordinated fraud.
As Abraham Lincoln said so eloquently, “a house divided against itself cannot stand.” So for the sake of our children and democracy, I hope we can quickly end this charade and move forward as a country.
“With malice toward none, with charity towards all ... let us strive ... to bind up the nation’s wounds,” as Lincoln said in his second inaugural address in 1865.
Nobody talks likes that anymore but the sentiment is the same. So thank you poll workers, thank you democracy, and bring on 2021.
