Efforts to undermine election are insult to decency

Since the presidential election, Trump has, through aggressive marketing, raised more than $150 million fighting the legitimate election results, touting conspiracy theories to do it. Apparently, people believe him.

If only Trump had aggressively marketed social conscience, kindness and the acts of masking, distancing and hand washing with the same fervor, perhaps some of the more than 250,000 lives lost to COVID-19 would have been saved.

In this desperate time for so many, think of how many families could be nourished, lonely souls found shelter and suicides and drug overdoses prevented with $150 million.

Hundreds of poll workers, vote counters, election officials and all our secretaries of state, from both parties, worked diligently to follow election laws for us. In response to ensuring a secure election following Russian tampering attempts in 2016, Department of Homeland Security official Chris Krebs — widely praised for his work — was fired.

Some Americans would rather allow this conspiracy theory charade to continue than stand for honesty and integrity.

It is all such an insult to decency.
