Death penalty trial ends in conviction

Ajury convicted Jacob Holmes Jr. in a 2009 revenge killing of a man allegedly involved in a friend’s murder in Wilson. Holmes was found guilty in the death of Miguel Aponte Jr., who had been released from prison on charges related to the 2006 killing of Jason Oliver.

What’s next? The district attorney is seeking the death penalty against Holmes.
