Two Allentown men arrested after car chase
Two Allentown men possessing an unlicensed firearm and $58,000 worth of suspected fentanyl sideswiped two vehicles while fleeing police Friday in Schuylkill County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Shakier Kingsley, 29, and Carlos Reynoso, 29, each face felony drug and firearm charges. Kingsley was also charged with one felony count of attempting to elude police, among other lesser charges.
According to police, state troopers attempted to pull over Kingsley and Reynoso for unspecified traffic violations shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday on Route 901 in Barry Township. Kingsley, whowas driving, fled south toward Minersville, and sideswiped an occupied vehicle near the Kings Village shopping center.
As the pursuit continued toward Cressona, police say they observed Reynoso toss a handgun and suspected drugs out of the vehicle.
Kingsley continued south on Route 183 and then Route 61, sideswiping another occupied vehicle just south of Orwigsburg, police said.
Police set up spike strips farther south on Route 61, disabling Kingsley’s vehicle. The menwere taken into custody without further incident.
Near Cressona, police recovered a loaded handgun and two large baggies containing about 580 grams of fentanyl, state police said. Neither man, they said, had a license to carry the gun.
State troopers from Frackville, Schuylkill Haven and Hamburg as well as officers from multiple local departments assisted during the chase. Noinjuries were reported.
Kingsley is being held in Schuylkill County jail under $75,000 bail.
Reynoso was released on $75,000 bail.
