Ice, snow expected to glaze region
The Lehigh Valley will be under a winter weather advisory for ice and possibly snow all day Sunday.
The National Weather Service advisory goes into effect at 9 a.m. for up to an inch of snow and a glazing of ice that could create slippery road conditions. It ends at 1 a.m. Monday.
The National Weather Service recommends travelers slow down and use caution.
The precipitation could begin as freezing rain and sleet and become mostly just rain in the afternoon. Sunday night could bring snow, before the system leaves the area, according to the Weather Service.
Empire Weather, which provides localized forecasts for The Morning Call, said the overall impacts are expected to be “extremely limited.”
“Roads may be slippery in some spots when precipitation begins, but once the transition to rain occurs, road issues are expected to end,” according to Empire Weather.
