AirBnB looks for red-flag bookings
Out of safety concerns, AirBnB has announced it will be reviewing recently booked reservations at Harrisburg properties for presidential inauguration week.
Spokesperson Sam Randall said the company will review, cancel and ban any reservations associated with violent hate groups, or violate community guidelines ahead of possible rioting and violence ahead of or during the inauguration.
AirBnB is collaborating with Gov. Tom Wolf and local law enforcement on its plans, Randall said.
“This is complementary to our ongoing efforts to keep our hosts, guests and communities safe by working to identify individuals who may present a risk of violence such as members of violent hate group members and others publicly confirmed to have been responsible for the violent criminal activity in the U.S. Capitol building,” Randall said.
AirBnB blocked or canceled reservations in the
Washington, D.C., area for inauguration week to protect from the threat of rioting or other violent activity.
The company previously said it would not be making campaign donations to the Republicans who voted against certifying the 2020 presidential election results.
