Slate Belt Heritage Center news NCC to offer nursing program NCC dual enrollment infomation sessions
The Slate Belt Heritage Center, 30 N. First St., Bangor, will be open noon to 3 p.m. Sundays until the beginning of April. Monthly presentations will continue to be posted on our Facebook page, SlateBelt-Heritage-Center-SBHC.
The next presentation will be by Cullen King, entitled “Our Past, Our Future: Why our History Should Provide Hope Today.” The presentation will be posted on the center’s Facebook page on Jan. 21. Past programs are archived on the Facebook page.
Are you a nurse who has been out of practice and is interested in returning to the health care workforce?
NCC is offering an RN/LPN Reactivation/Review program designed to review basic nursing knowledge and incorporate information on more recent technological advancements, 6-10 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 25 to May 3, at the Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third St., Bethlehem, Room 348. The fee for RNs is $2,075 and for LPNs $1,725.

High school students can join a virtual dual enrollment information session at Northampton Community College. Sessions will be held at 10 a.m. or 5 p.m. Jan. 27; noon or 6 p.m. Feb. 1; 10 a.m. or 4 p.m. Feb. 11.
Students will discover why NCC’s dual enrollment program is a cost-effective way to jump-start their college career and earn transferable credits towards a future degree.
The information sessions will cover everything students need to know about dual enrollment like the benefits, costs, application process, how to register for classes and scholarship opportunities. If you are a current high school student taking college prep, honors/AP or career/technical coursework, don’t miss out on the chance to get all of your questions answered.

LCCC offers EMT classes
Lehigh Carbon Community College will hold emergency medical technician training programs in Lehigh County for individuals who are likely to respond to pre-hospital emergencies or those considering a medical career. Upon completion, students 18 years or older will be eligible to test for the National Registry EMT credential. Minimum age to enroll in the class is 16.
An EMT basic class will be held 6:30-10 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays Feb. 2- through June 10 at the Emergency Medicine Institute, 2100 Mack Blvd., Allentown. There will be several Saturday sessions. A fee of $1,150 does not include text or equipment.
Additional requirements include the submission of a physician release form and proof of medical insurance.
