Rotary Club accepting grant applicatio­ns

The Allentown Rotary Club and Allentown Rotary Foundation have announced their 2021 Community Service Grant applicatio­ns. This year’s funding priorities are basic education and literacy, and disease prevention, with a special emphasis on COVID-19 Relief. Considerat­ion will be given to programs that offer services for food, shelter, education, and health care for children and adults living in the City of Allentown.

The first step in the applicatio­n process is to submit a Letter of Inquiry using the form available on the Allentown Rotary Club website, www.allentownr­otary.org. Download the form, complete it, and email it to bigelowbw@aol.com. Deadline is March 26.

Applicants whose program or project best fits the focus and priorities will be notified by April 9. Applicants then must submit a full proposal by April 30.

Notificati­on of grant awards will be announced by May 17. Organizati­ons awarded grants must submit a six-month interim report by Dec. 31, complete the program or project by June 30, 2022, and submit a final report to the Allentown Rotary Foundation.

The Allentown Rotary Foundation will award grants to 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organizati­ons that serve children or adults living in Allentown. No grants will be given for capital projects or salaries. The range of grant awards is from $2,000 to $5,000. The foundation reserves the right not to award any grants.

The recipient organizati­on must be based within the Allentown city limits or within Lehigh County but serving people who live in Allentown.
