Guy A. Richmond, 87, of Allentown, passed away March 26, 2022 with his devoted family by his side. Born in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Thomas and Sarah (Kunkle) Richmond. Guy was married to Anna (Psarsky) Richmond for the past 62 years. Guy was a 1951 graduate of Lehighton High School before enlisting in the United States Navy, where he served as a corpsman/medic and was honorably discharged as an E5 petty officer.

He was employed at Mack Trucks before obtaining as associates degree in Business Management leading to a career as the accounting manager at Culligan Water Conditioning for 35 years before retiring. Guy was also a Notary Public.

He was active for 25 years at the St. John the Baptist Slovak Catholic Church Slavonic Club, where he served as treasurer and president.

Guy was the only non-Catholic to ever receive the Ralph Rosenberger Man of the Year Award from the St. John the Baptist Holy Name Society in honor of his selfless devotion and service to the parish. He was also active in the Allentown Central Catholic High School Booster Club while his children attended school there.

Guy (Dad, Grandpop, Uncle Guy, Griddles, Herbie) was a world traveler, enjoying trips to California, the Grand Canyon, Disney World, Germany, England, New Zealand, Fiji and Australia. He was known to display his honeyed baritone vocals at many various family and social events. One might find him fishing at Jordan Creek, Lake Wallenpaupack or Leaser Lake with his brother Art, bowling at the Club, skeet shooting at the local range or enjoying boating at Beltsville Lake.

Guy was a verifiable Steve Jobs, painstakingly rebuilding computers. Despite not being a church-goer, he found solace in frequently reading the Bible and had a knack as an “animal whisperer”, often spending hours communing with nature in the nearby woods.
