Leon A. Litzenberg­er, 78, of Alburtis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10,

2022 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Dorothy E. (Wilson) Litzenberg­er, whom he married on September 23, 1967 in Zion's Evangelica­l Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville, where they remained longtime members. Born in Alburtis, Leon was a son of the late Earl A. and Helen A. (Dries) Litzenberg­er and was a 1962 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Leon worked for ARA Services, Inc. (now Aramark) for 38 years until his retirement. He was also a farmer for many years, working alongside his father at their

Alburtis farm and his father-in-law at A&B Farms in Mertztown. Leon enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchild­ren. Along with his wife, Dorothy, Leon is survived by his three children, Angela (Litzenberg­er), wife of Michael Surdovel, Alburtis, Tammy (Litzenberg­er), wife of Ethan Harbison, Macungie, and Stephen Litzenberg­er, fiancé of Janine Hildebrand, East Greenville; seven grandchild­ren; three step-grandchild­ren; and siblings, Bernice, Linda, Joseph, Brenda, JoAnn, and June, and was predecease­d by a brother, Ernest.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Leon will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich

Street, Kutztown, PA. Burial will follow at

Zion's Evangelica­l Lutheran Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing
