Richard Douglas Walsh
Richard Douglas Walsh, 78, of Bethlehem Township, passed away at home on May 20, 2022, surrounded by his
family. All the angels above greeted the newcomer with open arms. Heaven, we know, just got a little nicer. He was born in Winston-Salem, NC; the son of the late Clauide Carson and Iva Lee (Sharp) Walsh. Dick is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 35 years, Nancy Ann (Morris) Walsh.
Dick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to everyone he met. As an AllAmerican Soap Box Derby pioneer, he added innovation to the sport he loved. He worked in sales for the photography industry for decades before enjoying woodworking, traveling and spending time with his family in retirement. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Nancy; daughters, Joyce Walsh Simonis and husband Axel, Devan Lee Walsh; grandchildren, Emma Simonis, Dylan Ward, and Logan Simonis;
brothers-in-law, Edward Morris and wife
Debbie, Joseph Morris and wife Marschia and David Morris; and cousin, Barbara Sharp Orban and husband Richard.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018, immediately followed by a ceremony to celebrate Dick's life. Burial will be private.
