Richard L. Kuhn

Richard L. Kuhn, 86, of Allentown, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice. He was the husband of the late Marguerite R. “Peggy” (Jackson) Kuhn, who died in 2004.

Born in Upper Saucon Township, he was a son of the late Otto S. and Ida (Luckenbill) Kuhn. Dick was a 1953 graduate of William Allen High School. He served his country honorably in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Dick worked as a draftsman for Mack Trucks until retiring in 1987. He was very proud of his accomplishments in designing firetrucks and other improvements on the pumper truck design.

Dick was a member of Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church in Allentown. He was also a member of the National Guard Association and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Dick enjoyed fast cars and motorcycles and especially enjoyed meeting with the McDonald’s breakfast group.

Survivors: Daughter, Lori A. Kuhn and her wife Rebecca Colaw of Suffolk, VA; son, Barry L. Kuhn and his wife Maribeth of Allentown; sister, Sandra Minjack and her husband Ronald of Northampton; 2 granddaughters, Ashley and Bayley. Dick was preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Knecht.

Services: A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 535 W. Emaus

Avenue, Allentown, PA 18103. A viewing for relatives and friends will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service in the church. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. Arrangements are entrusted to the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
