Richard Charles " Dick " Campbell

80 years of age, died peacefully at Kenmore Mercy Hospital on January

29, 2022. He was born in Niagara Falls, New York January

19, 1942 to Emma Dorwart Campbell and William Campbell. After graduation from LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls, he attended Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia before enlisting in the Air Force. After completing his initial enlistment, including extended temporary duty assignment­s at Thule Air Force Base at Thule Greenland and Peterson

Air Force Base in Colorado Springs Colorado, he remained in the Air Force Reserve and continued on active duty with the New York State Air National Guard, retiring after 23 years service (all in Niagara Falls). He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. Both before and after his retirement, Dick lived in the family home and continued to care for his parents until their deaths. He served as steward of the LaSalle Sportsman's Club for many years, and more recently, as Commander of LaSalle American Legion Post #1142 in Niagara Falls, New York.

Dick leaves behind a brother, William Campbell,

Jr. (Jane), and sister Janet Campbell Stults (Taylor), nephews David Taylor Stults (Kathy), Eric William Stults, Evan Campbell Stults (Joe),

William Richard Campbell (Rick and his wife Ann), nieces Kathy (Mike) Renner and Karen (Victor) Argo, many loving cousins and countless friends who will miss Dick greatly.

Graveside services with Military honors will be held at 10:00 am on Friday July 8, 2022

in Fairview Cemetery, 2420 Lehigh Street, Whitehall, PA 18052, where he will be laid to rest next to his parents. A small memorial event will take place at the LaSalle American Legion Hall at a time to be announced. Contributi­ons in Dick's memory may be sent to the LaSalle American Legion #1142, 8643 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, New York 14304. Thank you kindly.
