At Muhlenberg, Students Prepare to Make an Impact

-

The complex challenges facing society require a new kind of knowledge, grounded in a deep understanding of humanity paired with hands-on problem solving experience. At Muhlenberg College, students have found three key ingredients that are preparing them to meet today’s challenges head on.

Real-World Academics Matter

Muhlenberg students forge their own educational path that features unique cross-discipline learning to sharpen critical reasoning and expand perspectives.

“Muhlenberg has taught me to look at all the different options, all the different possibilities, and all the different collaborators that can help work toward a better future together,” senior

Lacey Pasco said.

The College offers 39 majors and 25 minors across fields including business, accounting, media & communication, public health, neuroscience, premed and prelaw. Students often double major, pursue multiple minors or create their own majors.

Coaching Matters

At Muhlenberg, taking risks creates opportunities to grow and learning is about experience and experimentation. Every Muhlenberg student has their own coaching team of world-class faculty, highly-skilled staff and fellow students. “I’m not a number in my class–they know me,” first-year student Vishmitha Dsouza said. “From the health center to the writing center, every person I have met has been so resourceful for me in my journey.”

Highly competitive financial aid packages open doors for many students. Students deepen their knowledge through opportunities like facultymentored research, study abroad and hands-on professional exploration through internships, externships and networking.

The Full College Experience Matters

Students spend four years on a campus with boundless opportunities to connect, grow and lead. The College offers competitive Division III athletics, more than 120 clubs and organizations and events and performances nearly every night of the week.

“I would describe it as a small, tight-knit community that is really open-minded and generates creativity and opportunity for a lot of different people,” senior Joe Romano said. “Having that community around me, pushing me and asking if I can do better, inspires me.”

And the best part? This robust experience is close to home. Muhlenberg’s location right in the Lehigh Valley offers the opportunity for students to explore their home region in new ways and expand their personal and professional network nationally and globally while remaining connected to their community.
