Nominate an employer now for Lehigh Valley’s Top Workplaces
What makes a top workplace in the Lehigh Valley? Turns out it’s not all about the size of your paycheck.
That was the takeaway from The Morning Call’s inaugural Top Workplaces survey in 2012. A dozen years later — despite incredible changes in the Lehigh Valley economy and in how many of us approach our jobs — the same holds true.
In last year’s survey of more than 50,000 Lehigh Valley employees, workers again focused largely on having managers who cared about their concerns; feeling like they are part of something meaningful; and having employers operate by strong values,
What employers offer those benefits (not to mention good pay and others benefits — such as insurance, time off and flexible hours — too) these days? Lehigh Valley workers will have their say.
The search is on to find the best place to work for 2024, as The Morning Call kicks off its annual Top Workplaces competition for the 12th year. The Morning Call is again teaming up with Philadelphia-area workplace research and consulting firm Energage to find what local employers fit the bill.
Anyone — including employees, CEOs or customers — can nominate a potential top workplace. Nominations are open to employers in the Lehigh Valley region — Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Monroe, and Berks counties — with at least 35 employees. It doesn’t matter if the workplace is for-profit or nonprofit, privately owned, publicly held, or a government agency. Workplaces are evaluated by their employees using a confidential, 24-question survey during July through October.
The top employers will be featured in the annual Top Workplaces magazine and recognized at a special event next year.
Energage, The Morning Call’s partner in this annual project, conducts Top Workplaces surveys in 62 markets. It surveyed more than 2 million employees at more than 8,000 organizations in 2022, including 51,100 at 81 Lehigh Valley locations.
There is no fee to participate, and there is no application process. Every organization that takes part will receive confidential feedback about its workplace, information it can use to help improve itself.
