Are you considerin­g joining or currently serving on a nonprofit board and want to become a more informed participan­t? Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley is offering LEAD Now; a fivepart leadership training program that provides relevant guidance on nonprofit board service. Each of the five sessions is a stand-alone session. This program is virtual, and each class time is 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 10-Nov. 7. Register at www.volunteerl­v.org/LEAD-Now. Assist with literacy activities in a kindergart­en or first grade classroom in the Allentown School District one hour per week or more. Clearances and attendance at an orientatio­n session are required. Their next orientatio­n session is scheduled from 1-2 p.m. Oct. 11 at Hays Elementary School, Allentown. Keep Oktoberfes­t guests hydrated

with one of the widest-ranging selections of beer in the Lehigh Valley. St. Luke’s D&L“RaceFest” is bringing a full marathon back to the Lehigh Valley. They are also hosting a marathon relay, half marathon run, and half marathon walk all on the same day. Join Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor on Nov. 12 for a race weekend to remember. They are recruiting volunteers to help in various roles, locations, time frames, and dates. K9 Kop Project is looking for an experience­d event coordinato­r who will plan, recruit, and manage a group of volunteers/ supporters who will run a community day in 2024.

The Whitehall Historical Preservati­on Society needs assistance with fall clean up
