Flood watch issued
Excessive rainfall could lead to flooding in the Lehigh Valley this weekend.
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for the entire region from 1 p.m. Saturday through Sunday evening as a low pressure system moves through.
Between 1 and 2 inches of rain are expected over that period, which could lead to flooding in low-lying, poor drainage and urban areas, according to the weather service. Flooding is also possible along creeks and streams.
The weather service advises residents to watch out for subsequent flood warnings and to be prepared if they live in areas prone to flooding.
In addition to the rain, it will be breezy, with wind gusts of up to 25 mph expected, according to the weather service. Overnight, a thunderstorm is even possible.
The rain will linger through Sunday afternoon, but then a chance of snow showers is possible through the evening as colder air moves in. Little to no accumulation is expected, according to the weather service.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Breezy, with a northwest wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 33. Breezy.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 58.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.
