Robert Gaugler
Robert "Bob" Gaugler, 86, of Bethlehem, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on March 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 28, 1937, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Donald and Theresa (Donches) Gaugler. He was a graduate of Bethlehem High School. Bob honorably served his country in the United States Army. After completing his education,
Bob began a long and distinguished career at Bethlehem Steel, where he rose through the ranks to become the Superintendent of Production Scheduling. His dedication to his work was evident to all who knew him, and his leadership and expertise helped guide the company through many successful years.
Bob also drove bus for the Bethlehem Area School District as well. Bob's life was not all work, however. He was also an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting and fishing. His passion for nature was most evident in the time he spent at his beloved cabin at Promise Land, where he created countless memories with friends and family. Bob's love for sports was equally strong, and he was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies. Bob's greatest pride, however, was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (Cool) Gaugler, with whom he shared over 17 years of marriage. He will also be remembered by his daughter, Ann Malloy, and son, Robert Gaugler, and his wife Ellen. Bob was a doting grandfather to Barrett, Thomas, Tawnya, and Tarrah, and he cherished every moment he spent with his great-grandchildren, Mary Jane, and Ruby. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and his legacy of love and laughter will live on through them. Bob was the brother of the late Donald Gaugler and Barbara Gaugler. SERVICES: Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Bob's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
