Shirley Ann (Miller) DeSantis, loving wife of the late Alexander DeSantis, passed away peacefully in her home on March 3, 2024 at the age of

92. Born on February 19, 1932 in Red Wing, Minnesota, Shirley was the daughter of Clara (Ness) and Ernest Miller. Shirley excelled at secretaria­l work which led her on a path of travel and working for organizati­ons such as CBS in Chicago and The Department of State. She was working in the US Embassy in Athens, Greece when she met fellow expat Alex, her husband of 59 years. After their three children were born, the family moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvan­ia where Shirley was active in raising her children and volunteeri­ng in the community. Resourcefu­l and creative, Shirley entered a recipe contest with an eye on the prize of new kitchen appliances. She won

(!) and this started a passionate hobby that she generously shared with family and friends. Shirley competed in many national cookoffs, won amazing trips and gained some very special contest friends.

SURVIVORS: Shirley is survived by sons

Anthony and Alexander Jr., daughter Miranda and partner Ernst Jansson, granddaugh­ter Alyssa and husband Larry Helmick, great grandsons Diego and Jax, great granddaugh­ter Poppy Jane and numerous nieces and nephews. Sisters

Shirley's family would like to thank the employees of Traditions of Hanover, Consider it Done and The Care Team Hospice for the love and compassion­ate care they gave to Shirley.
