Reading, Writing, & Retailing symposium offered

The Council for Retail and Sales, housed at DeSales University, will hold its next educational symposium: Reading, Writing, and Retailing, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 19 at DeSales University Center, 2755 Station Ave., Upper Saucon Township.

At the event, attendees can immerse themselves in a world of creativity with engaging sessions by renowned authors, journalists and publishers who will share their writing journeys and offer valuable tips for aspiring writers. Shelley Dennis, television writer for ABC’s “The Conners,” will be the keynote speaker over lunch. Dan Lauria, actor, playwright, producer, author and best known for his role as the dad on the highly acclaimed Emmy winning ABC television show, “The Wonder Years,” will join Lehigh Valley native Daniel Roebuck, author as well as writer, producer, director, and star of several films including “Getting Grace,” “Lucky Louie,” and “Hail Mary,” for a sure-to-be entertaining “Conversation with the Dan’s.”

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in interactive discussions led by experienced authors. A sample of the table topics include: “Using Social Media to Leverage Yourself;” “Ideation Creation,” “In-Store Promotions: Author Signings and More;” “Finding a Publisher: Through the Wringer,” “So you want to Compose?,” “Navigating the Publishing Landscape,” and “Writing Textbooks.”
