- By Stephanie Sigafoos

Five new performers have been added to The Great Pocono Raceway Air Show slated for Aug. 24-25.

Each show date will feature the same four-hour program with high-flying aerobatic performances, historical reenactments and military salutes.

The new performers added to the lineup include the U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command A-10C Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team, and the U.S. Army Golden Knights aerial demonstration team. In addition, members of the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation will pilot the World War II era P-51 Mustang with the A-10 Warthog.

Other additions to the lineup include the Ace Maker Airshows T-33, performing inverted aerobatics and vertical rolls, and the Younkin Airshows Beech 18 Aerobatics team, considered one of the most unusual acts on the air show circuit.

Tickets are on sale now for the inaugural, family-friendly event, including a newly introduced four-pack. Tickets for kids 7 through 12 are half price, and free for children 6 and under.

Tickets for the VIP Flight Club, which includes complimentary food and beverages and the highest possible seats, are available for both dates online at www.poconoairshow.com or by calling 800722-3929.

Previously announced performers include Tora! Tora! Tora! The historic re-creation of the attack on Pearl Harbor will feature 61 pyrotechnic features, including an estimated 2,000-foot wall of fire finale and up to 12 aircraft.

The air show is under the planning and guidance of David Schultz Airshows of Clearfield. Their events include airshows along the Atlantic City beachfront, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and Dover Air Force Base.
