Most loans less than $150,000

Roughly 85% of the 165,000 Pennsylvan­ia loans were valued at less than $150,000, with a similar ratio reported among those received by Lehigh Valley businesses.

Of the more than 1,300 loans of at least $150,000 listed for organizati­ons in Lehigh or Northampto­n counties, 60% were in the smallest range, between $150,000 and $350,000, and seven in the largest range of between $5 million and $10 million. The data showed 7,500 loans locally that were less than $150,000.

The average loan nationally was about $100,000, according to a Treasury news release.
