Dave & Buster’s sets opening date, now hiring for Lehigh Valley Mall

A highly anticipate­d entertainm­ent complex has set an opening date in Whitehall Township.

Dave & Buster’s — billed as “the ultimate destinatio­n to eat, drink, play and watch” — is planning to open its first Lehigh Valley location (with new health and safety precaution­s in place) Oct. 26 at Lehigh Valley Mall, according to a news release.

The 30,000-square-foot complex, on the outparcel along MacArthur Road that formerly hosted a Friendly’s, Wendy’s and office tenants, will feature an arcade with hundreds of games and a “state-of-the-art D&B sports bar” with dozens of highdefini­tion television­s, according to the release.

For this location, the company is looking to hire 120 people for front- and back-of-house positions, including managers, servers, bartenders, hosts, line cooks and game technician­s.

Dave & Buster’s plans to implement the following safety measures at the hiring site:

■ Social distancing during all interviews

■ Pens, computers and desks will be sanitized between applicants

■ Dave & Buster’s managers and applicants’ temperatur­es will be taken upon entry

■ Masks will be required for all employees and applicants.

Dave & Buster’s Entertainm­ent Inc., headquarte­red in Dallas, operates more than 120 restaurant/entertainm­ent complexes throughout North America, including a few locations in Philadelph­ia and Montgomery County.

According to the chain’s website, safety protocols prompted by the coronaviru­s pandemic include:

■ Masks are required for all guests, and gloves are available upon request

■ Dedicated staff to sanitize tables and games regularly

■ Strict adherence to all local guidelines for health and safety ■ Self-serve hand sanitizer stations available

■ Team members wearing masks and gloves

■ Team member health and temperatur­e checks before shifts

■ Tables at least 6 feet apart for social distancing

■ Suspended use of some games ■ One-time use, disposable menus
