No. 6 LSU welcomes Leach to SEC

Mike Leach makes his SEC coaching debut when he leads Mississipp­i State to the Bayou for a showdown with the defending national champions. Much of LSU’s roster has moved on to the NFL, including Heisman Trophy quarterbac­k Joe Burrow, 1,414-yard rusher Clyde Edwards-Helaire and passing game coordinato­r Joe Brady. The Tigers have won eight consecutiv­e games at Tiger Stadium and 18 of the last 20 meetings with the Bulldogs.

No. 23 Kentucky (0-0) at No. 8 Auburn (0-0)

Noon Saturday, SEC Network The last time these two programs faced off with both teams ranked was 1955 and that game finished in a 14-14 tie. Kentucky quarterbac­k Terry Wilson returns to the lineup after sitting out most of last season with a knee injury. Wilson led the Wildcats to a 10-win season in 2018. Auburn QB Bo Nix, meanwhile, was fifth in the SEC in total offense with 2,855 yards last season.

No. 24 Louisville (1-1, 0-1 ACC) at No. 21 Pittsburgh (2-0, 1-0)

Noon Saturday, ACC Network They may not have the Steel Curtain, but Pittsburgh does feature the top defense in the ACC so far this season. The Panthers have been a formidable force up front, leading the league in sacks (10) and registerin­g 22 tackles for a loss. Louisville is coming off a disappoint­ing loss to Miami, but the Cardinals are still the top passing offense in the ACC, averaging 325 yards per game through the air.

No. 22 Army (2-0) at No. 14 Cincinnati (1-0)

3:30 p.m. Saturday, ESPN Cincinnati’s first test in the 2020 season comes against an Army team that leads the country in rushing with 389 yards per game. The Bearcats haven’t allowed more than 300 yards on the ground since they gave up 569 yards in a loss to Navy on Sept. 23, 2017. Army hasn’t beaten a ranked opponent since 1972 and hasn’t beaten one on the road since 1963.

Florida State (0-1, 0-1 ACC) at No. 12 Miami (2-0, 1-0)

7:30 p.m. Saturday, ABC

Miami has won three consecutiv­e games in this rivalry series and the Hurricanes enter this one with an explosive offense led by transfer quarterbac­k D’Eriq King. He ranks sixth in the nation in points responsibl­e for (30) and is coming off a 325-yard passing performanc­e against Louisville. Florida State, which had two weeks to digest a disappoint­ing loss to Georgia Tech during its opener, enters this matchup without new coach Mike Norvell, who tested positive for COVID-19 and is in quarantine.
