2009— Pius Xquarterback Anthony Casciano completes 24 of 34 passes for 413 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-19 win over Marian Catholic. Sean O’Neil catches eight passes for 151 yards and two scores, while Matt Camilletti pulls in eight for 146 yards and a touchdown.

2001 — Parkland beats Stroudsburg 4-0 to present Trojan field hockey coach Anne Wenninger her 300th career victory. Wenninger, who coached Allen for 18 years before coming to Parkland in 1997, resigns after the season with a 308-130-40 record in 23 seasons.

1999— Die ru ff grad Andre Reed hauls in three catches for 41 yards in Buffalo’s 26-0 win over the Eagles in Buffalo to become the third wide receiver in NFL history with 900 career receptions. Reed joins Jerry Rice and Art Monk as the only receivers to catch that manypasses.

1996— MikeFeniger’s hat trick helps East Stroudsburg University soccer coach Jerry Sheska win his 200th game (200-85-15) in 15 years with the Warriors in a 5-0 victory over LeMoyne.

1996 — Whitehall girls basketball coach John Churetta loses his battle with cancer. Churetta, a teacher at Whitehall for 32 yards, was an assistant baseball coach from 1965-1989, an assistant football coach for 15 years, an assistant boysbasketball coachfor four years and a girls basketball assistant for four years before becoming the head baseball coach in 1988.

1989 — Four games into his first season as Allen’s football coach and his return to coaching for the first time since 1972,62- year-old Jeep Bed na rik re signs at the urging of his doctors for medical reasons.
