The Morning Call

Super 32, Journeymen and more in October

- By Tom Housenick

Jagger Condomitti, win or lose at last Saturday’s FLOWrestling’s Who’s No. 1, said he was taking a break and not competing at Super 32 or Journeymen.

The Northampton senior, who lost 4-3 on a late takedown to Brecksville, Ohio’s Victor Voinovich, is staying true to his word.

Stroudsburg’s Lenny Pinto, who won his Who’s No. 1 match against Blair Academy’s Rylan Rogers, said he was strongly considering Super 32 but is not yet registered.

“I’ve got to get that belt,” he said last week. “I’ve got prove it to myself. I’ve got to go get it.”

Pinto added that he wasn’t sure if he’d head to Journeymen Fall Classic, which moves this year to State College, where he spent the previous four weekends training for Who’s No. 1.

Notre Dame-GP’s Ryan Crookham, who pulled out of the Who’s No. 1 event because of injury, is not entered at Super 32, where he won a belt as an eighth-grader.

A large group of Bethlehem Catholic wrestlers, including transfer (from Palisades) Ashton Campbell, are staying busy. Many are heading to Super 32, which moved from North Carolina to South Carolina.

Many Golden Hawks had stellar showings at last month’s Battle of the ‘Burgh, which moved from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia.

Nathan Desmond, an eighth grader, was 9-0 with five pins at 98 pounds. Kollin Rath (113) and Tyler Kasak (120) were 9-0. Eight of Rath’s nine wins were by bonus points. Kasak had three pins, three 1-point decisions and a 7-3 victory over Nazareth’s Charlie Bunting.

Cael McIntyre (120) was 6-0. Dante Frinzi was 5-1 at 126-132. Campbell was 3-2 at 126.

Bunting was 5-4. Northampton’s Carson Wagner was 6-3 at 106.
