Two shot to death, suspect arrested

-

A man charged with fatally shooting a brother and sister early Friday in Monroe County reportedly told police he “had taken acid [LSD]” and “saw something he shouldn’t have.”

Tyrone Johnson, 38, of Mount Pocono, is charged with criminal homicide in the 2:35 a.m. shootings of siblings Amir Moore, 28, of Carbondale, and Shadea Moore, 29, of Mount Pocono, at an apartment in the 100 block of Snowshoe Court in Mount Pocono.

Johnson is also charged with illegally having a gun, endangering a child’s welfare and reckless endangerment. District Judge Philip Riley arraigned Johnson and placed him in Monroe County jail without bail.

A woman who was asleep in the apartment reported being awakened by a “popping sound,” according to a news release from Pocono Mountain Regional police.

She said she saw Johnson wandering in the hallway, bleeding from the shoulder and acting strangely. She said she saw Amir Moore motionless on a bedroom floor as she and her children left the apartment.

Police arrived and found Amir Moore with multiple gunshot wounds and Shadea Moore with a single gunshot wound, both dead in a bedroom. A handgun and shell casings were also found in the bedroom, police said.

As Johnson was being taken to a hospital, he said he had taken acid and seen something he shouldn’t have, the release states. At the hospital, police said, he admitted shooting the Moores and said he may have tried to shoot himself.
