Man fatally struck on Northeast Extension
Amanwas killed early Thursday morning on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike after he was hit by multiple vehicles, according to state police.
Police received calls around 4:20 a.m. for reports of a man walking in and out of traffic in the area of mile marker 46.4 in Lower Milford Township, state police say. By the time police arrived, the man had been hit by more than one vehicle in the right lane and died at the scene.
The highway was closed and traffic was diverted at the Quakertown exit for hours. The turnpike reopened late Thursday morning.
Police did not know the identity of the man and are asking anyone with information about him or observations about the crash to contact the state police Fogelsville barracks at 610-3951438.
